Giriş: Farklı ülkelerden bilim insanlarının bir araya geldiği toplantılar aynı zamanda ülkelerin tanıtımı, var olan ilişkilerin geliştirilmesi açısından önem taşır. Bu çalışmada Çocuk Cerrahisi kongrelerindeki temasların hem ülkemiz hem de Türkiye Çocuk Cerrahisi Derneği’nin haklarının aktarımındaki etkileri değerlendirilmiştir.
Gereç ve Yöntemler: Seksenli yıllardan itibaren uluslar arası kongrelerde karşılaşılan olaylar, bunların karşılığında Türk Çocuk Cerrahlarının sergilediği tutum incelenmiştir.
Bulgular: Türk Çocuk Cerrahları dünya genelinde tüm toplantılarda katılım sağlayarak hem tarihsel önyargılar karşısında ülkemiz ile ilgili doğru tanıtımı yapmış hem de kurdukları ilişkiler, bilimsel etkinlikleriyle önemli toplantıların Türkiye’de gerçekleşmesini sağlamışlardır.
Sonuç: Artık Türkiye Çocuk Cerrahisi Derneği tüm dünya genelinde bilimsel platformlarda kabul görmektedir. Bunda yaptığımız bilimsel çalışmalar önemli nedendir. Ama altyapıyı oluşturanın kurulan sağlam uluslar arası bağlantılar ve bu bağlantılarla ülkemizin gerçek karakterini aktarmadaki tavizsiz başarı olduğu unutulmamalıdır.
Introduction: The meetings where scientists from different countries come together are important also for the promotion of countries and the development of existing relations. In this study, the effects of in pediatric surgery congresses on the transfer of rights of both our country and The Association of Turkish Pediatric Surgery were evaluated.
Materials and Methods: The events encountered in international congresses since the 1980s, and the attitude of Turkish pediatric surgeons in response to them were examined.
Results: Turkish pediatric surgeons participated in all meetings around the world, making the right presentation of our country in the face of historical prejudices and ensuring that important meetings were held in Turkey with the relations and scientific activities they established.
Conclusion: Today, Turkish Association of Pediatric Surgery is accepted in scientific platforms all over the world. An important reason for this is the scientific studies we produce. But it should not be forgotten that what constitutes the infrastructure is the solid international connections established and the uncompromising success in conveying the true character of our country with these connections.
