Abstract

It is important to have accurate scientific and general information before planning and evaluating the results of a scientific research. Planning a scientific research requires adequate and accurate reference assessment. Reference searching can be difficult if there is huge amount of reference related with topic and/or lack of enough amount of article. Thus, an adequate references search should be performed before planning a scientific research. Reference search includes searching published books, journals, research reports and thesis. This review aims to discuss the use of reference search, assessment and evaluation and criteria for academic assignment and upgrade.
