Abstract

A new laparoscopic method of the indwelling catheter insertion for chronic ambulatory peritoneal dialysis is presented in this article. In this method, through an umbilical port with the aid of an optical forceps, typically used for the foreign body removal in bronchoscopy, relevant procedures are performed, and through catheter access tract catheter is positioned properly under laparoscopic guidance.This technique is relatively easy, effective and has cosmetic superiority. Therefore, it should be considered as an alternative method for the insertion of peritoneal dialysis catheter.
