Abstract

There is an ongoing debate about the clinical picture of the urinary incontinence in children. The source of the debates about this topic that covers an important part of our clinical practice is lack of adequate investigations about the embriology, anatomy and the physiology of the urethral sphincter. It is very interesting to observe that, this topic has never become a focus of interest of the basic scientists. In this article, we summarized the controversial points of the embryology and the anatomy of the urethral sphincter.
