Abstract

There have been excellent results ragarding the management of end stage liver disease in children in the last two decades. Pediatric liver transplantation constitutes an important aspect of the treatment. The improvements in pediatric intensive care and facilities, immunosuppresive agents and management of immunosuppressive protocols, advances in surgical techniques and technology since the first liver transplantation performed by Starzl in 1963 have played an exquisite role in achieving the best results worldwide.
