Abstract

Objective: In our study, we aimed to examine the response level to treatment with different diagnostic methods in selected patients who were treated bladder with Botulinum Toxin-A (BTA) injection due to lower urinary system dysfunction.

Method: In this prospective study; injected cases in pre-op and post-op period; urodynamic study was subjected to various diagnostic methods such as Voiding Disorder Symptom Scoring (VDSS) and Bladder Elastography (ME). In addition, a control group consisting of urologically healthy patients was formed for ME.

Results: Significant changes were found in functional bladder capacity and bladder compliance values and VDSS values in the pre-op and post-op urodynamic studies of the patients who received BTA injection. Similar changes were not reflected in ME parameters.

Conclusion: BTA injection into the bladder in cases diagnosed with lower urinary system dysfunction; It is an effective treatment method. Although this efficacy can be demonstrated by urodynamic studies and various symptom scorings, further standardization studies are needed for ME.
