Abstract

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is the most common bacterial infection observed in children. Not treating the disease properly and sufficiently, and not managing early diagnosis lead to renal scar in parallel with hypertension and end stage renal failure. The efficacy and utility of continuous antibiotic prophylaxis (CAP) in children is controversial for preventing UTI. The literature has both supportive and contradictory evidence. However, CAP should be prefered the presence of kidney damage risk.
