Abstract
Pediatric upper gastrointestinal endoscopy has progressed from initial diagnostic applications to various interventions in parallel with its development in adults. The most common therapeutic, interventional pediatric indications of esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) are retrieval of foreign bodies, dilatations, interventions for nutritional support and those for variceal bleeding. It is very likely to think that quite innovative applications like endoluminal gastroplication will soon find a place in daily practice.
