Abstract
Physiological gastroesophageal reflux (GER) disappears spontaneously within few months after birth. Especially in neurogically impaired children and in children who underwent surgery due to esophageal atresia, symptoms frequently persist. Antireflux surgery is needed in babies and newborns that do not respond to medical treatment. By technical improvements and increasing experiences of pediatric surgeons in minimal invasive surgery, endoscopic surgery of gastroesophageal reflux is a safe procedure which can be applied in newborns, and infants.
