Abstract

The advantages of the minimally invasive surgery such as magnifying the image, dominating the anatomical details, faster recovery, lesser pain, decrease in the length of hospital stay and cosmetic advantages are all valid also for thoracoscopic interventions. Thoracic masses in children often require surgery. These interventions may include diagnostic thoracoscopy, biopsy or excisions for therapeutic purposes. Thoraco-endoscopic procedures such as minimally invasive surgery has emerged in the last fourty years and they are becoming increasingly widespread.
