Abstract

Adrenal tumors encountered rarely despite adrenal neuroblastoma seen in children have different peculiar characteristics in regard to hormonal activities, diagnosis and treatment contrary to the ones in adults. Pheochromocytoma arising from neuroectodermal cells in adrenal medulla and adrenocortical tumors arising from the different adrenal cortical layers with different hormonal activities are among the major adrenal tumors in children. Beside the general surgical principles, preoperative and postoperative medical therapeutic approaches are of great importance.
