Abstract

In recent years there is a dramatic increase in the pediatric urinary system stone disease due to the development in diagnostic methods, dietary habits and more sedentary lives. The urinary crystals come together and form a stone when the balance between stone-forming and stone-preventing factors is disrupted.

The age of the patient, size and localisation of the stone , urinary stasis and urinary tract infection are the most important factors affecting the clinical status of the child with urinary tract stone. Generally the classic symptoms and signs of adult patients are not observed in children. Many symptoms are detected when an obstruction due to the stone develops. The main aim of treatment is to sustain maximum stone-free period with minimally invasive approaches.
