Abstract

Primary liver tumor is the third-most-common type of solid abdominal tumors during childhood. Among liver tumors, vascular tumors are most commonly observed. The most frequent vascular tumor causing symptoms during infancy is hemangioendothelioma. In the first 6 months of life, hepatomegaly is the most common finding of hemangioendothelioma. Abdominal mass, anemia, congestive heart failure and jaundice are also encountered in clinic. In this report, a 1-month-old-boy referred to us due to suspicion of hepatoblastoma is discussed. The patient was found to have abdominal mass suggesting tumor when examined for infantile colic. Our aim is to present this rare case diagnosed with infantile hepatic hemangioendothelioma, treated by surgery, after biopsy and evaluations.
