Abstract

Ureterocele and ecttopic ureter are embryologic developmental anomalies of the urinary tract. However they carry importance because of anatomical, and physiopathological problems they lead to. Ureteral and bladder outlet obstructions, vesicoureteral reflux (VUR), renal dysplasia and incontinence are the most common conditions encountered in association with ureterocele, and ectopic ureter. The goals of treatment include protection of renal functions, prevention of infections, relief of obstruction, and VUR, preservation, and maintenance of continence, In recent years in compliance with the aim of reducing surgical morbidity to a minimal level, minimally invasive alternatives have gained prominence. In this article our aim is to discuss minimal invasive approaches in the treatment of ureterocel, and ectopic ureter starting from non-operative treatment alternatives.
